The report summarises the research stage of the 'Learners New to ESOL' project. It includes a review of existing research and policy as well as discussion of original practitioner research on the provision of 'pre-Entry' and Entry Level 1 ESOL. The report details how the materials were developed in response to the views of practitioners and makes recommendations for policy and practice.
