Teacher with a face shield

Yesterday, I got up early to go shopping. As soon as I stepped out the door, however, it began to rain. I decided to go back to my flat to get an umbrella, but the lift was out of order, so I had to climb all six flights of stairs.

By the time I got back downstairs, I was so exhausted that I had to sit down on a bench to rest. It had stopped raining, but the ground was still wet. A brown dog approached me to beg for some food. I tried to ignore it, but it splashed water all over my brand new shoes. When the bus finally arrived, I made my way to the supermarket.

When I got to the supermarket, I realised I had forgotten my list. I couldn’t remember what I wanted to buy, and the assistant was too busy to help me, so I gathered up a few items and carried them to the counter. When the cashier had finished adding up my order, he gave me the wrong change and stuffed my groceries into a paper bag, which was too small and not very strong. As I left, I was not in a good mood.

As if all that wasn’t bad enough, the bus ride home made things even worse. The bus driver yelled at me for taking too long to get on and then there were no available seats. I was sure someone would offer me a place to sit, but everyone was so rude. Couldn’t they see my bag full of things? They pretended not to see me. It was as if I was invisible.

I just stood there, leaned against one of the poles in the aisle, put my head down and sighed. What a rough day!
